Scratch is a visual programming language developed by MIT that allows students to create their own games, animations, and interactive stories by snapping together coding blocks. It teaches core coding logic in a fun and age-appropriate way.
Scratch helps students build logical thinking, problem-solving, and sequencing skills that directly support math and reading comprehension. Students learn how to break down multi-step problems, follow directions more carefully, and think more confidently. These skills help strengthen overall academic performance while also building early STEM foundations.
Our class is designed for Grades 2–5. No prior experience in coding or game design is required, students will learn everything step-by-step in a supportive environment lead by a qualified STEAM teacher.
Yes, there will be some light homework, but it’s not intensive. Assignments help reinforce what students learned in class and usually take 20-40 minutes to complete. Examples include short design sketches or idea planning.
Students will create games, animated stories, quizzes, and interactive challenges. Each unit ends with a completed project students can share with family and friends.
Nope! All materials and technology will be provided at Ace Academy. Students will have access to laptops, mouses, and design tools during class time.
