Our 1-1 and group SHSAT program is designed to prepare 8th-grade students for the Specialized High School Admissions Test (SHSAT). We also offer 1-1 tutoring for 9th-grade students who want to retake the test. SHSAT is required for admission to eight out of nine New York City Specialized High Schools. The eight schools and their 2025 cutoff scores are as follows:
Stuyvesant High School (556)
The Bronx High School of Science (518)
Brooklyn Technical High School (505)
Staten Island Technical High School (527)
High School for Mathematics, Science, and Engineering at City College (HSMSE) (526)
High School of American Studies at Lehman College (504)
Queens High School for the Sciences at York College (518)
The Brooklyn Latin School (496)
The SHSAT is going digital for the first time in 2025! The exam will continue to test ELA and math skills, with a total of 114 questions — 57 in ELA and 57 in Math.
New for 2025, the digital SHSAT will include TEI (Technology-Enhanced Items) questions. Our expert teaching team is staying ahead of the change, designing a holistic curriculum that not only builds ELA and Math knowledge, but also strengthens stress management, digital test-taking skills, and time management.
